Traditional Sunscreens Weren't Designed for Skin Health
Traditional sunscreens focus solely on blocking UV rays— but they don't support your skin's natural healing and resilience. Most are loaded with harsh chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate that absorb into your body and damage ocean ecosystems. We wanted something different: a way to nourish and support skin health during sun exposure.
Dr. J’s Healthy Rays lets the sun’s benefits in, such as vitamin D production while protecting the skin from damage.

Sunflower field against a dramatic sky at sunset
These three botanical ingredients work synergistically to support your skin's natural resilience during sun exposure.

Aloe
Aloe vera has been trusted for centuries to support skin health. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, it deeply hydrates while helping skin maintain its natural moisture barrier. Its cooling, soothing properties make it a go-to for nourishing skin after sun exposure.

Lavender
Lavender soothes and calms stressed skin with its natural anti-inflammatory properties. Rich in antioxidants, it helps skin recover from environmental exposure while supporting the skin's natural healing process. Its gentle nature makes it ideal for all skin types, even sensitive skin.

Vitamin D
We chose vitamin D because it's a powerful topical nutrient that does more than your body makes from sunshine. When applied to skin, it strengthens the skin's natural barrier function, helping protect against environmental stressors. This essential vitamin supports cellular health and works synergistically with sun exposure to maintain skin resilience and integrity.
About Dr. J Dunn
As both a sun enthusiast and a healthcare professional who has studied the harmful effects of environmental toxins on our health—and that of our waterways and oceans—I wanted to create a product I could recommend and use myself. Traditional sunscreens are loaded with chemicals I'd never recommend to my patients.. I wanted a product I could genuinely stand behind—one I’d recommend to my patients and use myself.
So I created one.
Dr. J’s Healthy Rays is the result: a thoughtfully crafted lotion made to nourish the skin during sun exposure, supporting skin integrity while honoring the natural benefits of time spent outdoors. Some people say it’s the only lotion they use, indoors and out.
I hope you'll discover what my patients already know.
Many customers tell us Healthy Rays has become their only face and body moisturizer—nourishing skin whether they're heading outdoors or simply going about their day.
